PLAY ENGLISH & THE BILINGUAL SCHOOL OF MONZA

CELEBRATE THE EUROPEAN DAY OF LANGUAGES

September 26 marks the annual celebration of the European Day of Languages initiated by the European Council www.ecml.at. This event, celebrated throughout the European continent, is intended to “Alert the public to the importance of language learning and to the linguistic and cultural diversity of Europe in order to promote and increase pluralingualism and intercultural understanding as well as encourage lifelong language learning in and out of school.”

Play English & The Bilingual School of Monza (www.bilingualschool.it),  embraces these objectives as part of the school’s mission and as such these form an integral part of our international curriculum. The school will launch a week of classroom activities where the whole school community will be involved. The students will make instruments from around the world, learn songs in different languages and will experience music from different countries. A musical instruments from around the world exhibition will be organised in school on Friday 25th September. Diversamente Colti (www.diversamentecolti.org), a school parent association that promotes cultural diversity, will work with the children to create these instruments. The children will perform songs in different languages which will reflect the pluralinguistic and multicultural composition of our community. On Monday, 28 September, from 15:30-16:30, these songs will be sung by our school children in a multilingual music festival which will be held in Area Cambiaghi, Monza.

We warmly welcome spectators to join us to celebrate this event.
