Curriculum
Program of studies
The curriculum adopted by the school is an international program, aspiring to the IBO-Middle Years Program and therefore designed for students aged 11 to 16. It provides learners with a structured framework for both academic knowledge and appropriate skills development relevant to their stage of cognitive development.
Objectives of the Program:
Acquiring academic rigour;
Thematic interdisciplinary studies, allowing students to establish connections within their own prior knowledge;
Developing practical and cognitive skills, according to the student’s own potential;
Awareness of the intercultural dimension;
Promoting an active and responsible citizenship, preparing students to live their future lives as protagonists of a global society.
The approach to learning fostered by this type of curriculum encompasses and transcends the traditional interdisciplinary organization of knowledge.
Although we propose a course of studies that is organized according to the different academic disciplines, our program highlights its inter-relational quality.
The program features the following:
Approach to interdisciplinary and comprehensive learning through the Areas of Interaction;
A structured framework of the learning objectives offered by the academic curriculum;
A process aiming at synthesizing, applying and assessing knowledge;
Enhancing intercultural aspects and team work;
